Сажетак: Свједоци смо све израженије свијести о значају културне баштине. Она је незамјењив и необновљив стратешки ресурс одрживог развоја. Да ли смо створили услове за њено очување и даље коришћење у будућности? Ако дјелујемо у смјеру остваривања културне, еколошке, економске и туристичке одрживости, стварају се услови да и будуће генерације задовоље своје властите потребе за учењем. У раду је анализиран примјер традиционалног села Увјећа у Херцеговини које је на прагу изумирања. Циљ истрaживања су могући правци његовог одрживог развоја, односно опстанка. Методе које се користе у раду су анализа, синтеза, метода моделирања и студија случаја.
Кључне ријечи: културно насљеђе, одрживи туризам, традиционално село, камена кућа, Увјећа.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN THE PROCESS OF REVIVING THE HERITAGE OF HERZEGOVINA: THE CASE OF THE VILLAGE OF UVJEĆA

Abstract: We are witnessing the rising awareness with regard to the importance of cultural heritage. Cultural heritage is irreplaceable and non-renewable strategic resource of sustainable development. It remains to be seen whether we created the conditions for its preservation and further utilization in future. By acting to achieve cultural, ecological, economic and tourism sustainability, we shall facilitate that future generations may also fulfill their needs for learning. This paper analyzes a traditional village, the village of Uvjeća in Herzegovina, which is on the verge of extinction. The purpose of this research has been to explore possible directions of its sustainable development and survival. The methods used are the analysis, the synthesis, the method of modelling and the case study.
