Sažetak: Prethodne godine su u mnogim državama donele veliki progres u razvoju i implementaciji Geografskih informacionih sistema (GIS). Oni koji donose odluke, iz raznih sfera privrednog i društvenog života, iz javnog i privatnog sektora, žele da vide dalje od nacionalnih granica. Rezultat ovoga jeste da sve više država i organizacija pristaje da deli „svoje“ prostorne podatke sa drugima i koristi prostorne podatke drugih o njimai o sebi samima. Pun potencijal geografskih informacionih sistema biće dostignut kroz infrastrukturu prostornih podataka, kada nacionalne vlade omoguće organizovani pristup geografskim informacijama.

GLOBALIZATION SPATIAL DATA INFRASTRUCTURE

Abstract: Last year in many countries have brought great progress in the development and implementation of Geographic information systems (GIS). Decision-makers from various spheres of economic and social life, public and private sectors, they want to see beyond national borders. The result is that more and more states and organizations agreed to share their spatial data with others and uses the spatial information of others to them and about ourselves. Full potential of geographic information systems will be achieved through spatial data infrastructure, when national governments provide organized access to geographic information.
