Sažetak: U radu se daje prikaz različitih pristupa u definisanju fenomena prostornog mišljenja. Analiza pokazuje da je u okviru tih pokušaja moguće izdvojiti elemente koji su im zajednički ‒ koncepti prostora, različiti vidovi predstavljanja tog prostora i operativno kombinovanje tih aktivnosti u procesu rezonovanja. Tvrdimo da adekvatna definicija prostornog mišljenja, pored toga, mora imati i jedan dublji sloj koji bi povezivao navedene elemente u koherentan logičko-jezički sistem. Taj element, tvrdimo, predstavljaju koncepcije prostornosti. Shodno tome, istraživanja u oblasti prostornog mišljena moraju uključiti rezultate analiza na nivou filozofskih teorija prostora, savremenih neurofizioloških istraživanja i kritičke teorije društva.

DEFINITION OF SPATIAL THINKING. FROM CONCEPTS TO CONCEPTIONS

Abstract: This paper provides an overview of different approaches to defining the basic components of the phenomenon of spatial thinking. The analysis shows that within these attempts it is possible to isolate the elements that are common to them ‒ the concepts of space, the different forms of representation of that space and the operational combination of these activities in the process of reasoning. We argue that an adequate definition of spatial thinking, in addition, must have a deeper layer that would link these elements into a coherent logical-linguistic system. This element is represented by conceptions of space. Accordingly, research in the field of spatial thinking must include philosophical theories of space, contemporary neurophysiologic research and critical theory of society.
